Key finding
Ten LinkedIn accounts posting about 2.5 times a day as a team grew combined followers 52.3% in 81 days, with every account growing and accounts starting under 1,000 followers growing 98.1%, while connection growth from simultaneous outreach still tracked most of the follower gain.
What we measured
Our 60-day follower study ended with an honest problem: the accounts run outreach at the same time as content, and a new connection becomes a follower by default, so posting could not claim the growth alone. Three more weeks of daily snapshots extend the same series to 81 days, and this study reports the extended window with the same discipline, plus one new wrinkle the extension surfaced.
The dataset is our own team: 10 LinkedIn accounts, 200 posts published inside the window, daily follower and connection snapshots from 7 June through 27 August 2026.
Methodology
Snapshots, not profile fields. Growth is measured between each account's first and last daily snapshot inside the window. Three accounts began their snapshot series up to 11 days late and are measured over their own shorter windows, which slightly understates total growth.
The connection-tracking discipline. For each account we also track connection counts, because outreach-driven connections become followers mechanically. The share of follower growth that ran beyond connection growth is the ceiling on what content could have contributed on its own; everything below that ceiling is unattributable between the two motions.
The new wrinkle, handled in the open. One account removed roughly 1,386 connections during the window (list pruning) while its followers grew by 522. Removing a connection does not remove the follower, so pruning inflates the "growth beyond connections" arithmetic. Both versions of that figure appear below, with and without the pruning account.

What this means
The headline number held up as the window grew. The 60-day study reported +41.50%; three more weeks compounded it to +52.33%, every account still growing, and the small-account effect stayed the strongest pattern in the data: accounts that started under 1,000 followers nearly doubled while the two large accounts grew a third.
The attribution ceiling is where the extension earned its keep. Naively, 43.68% of this window's growth ran beyond connections, up sharply from the 60-day study's 26.05%. The naive number is wrong, and the reason is instructive: one account's connection pruning masquerades as content-driven follower growth in the subtraction. Strip that account and the ceiling lands at 25.26%, almost exactly where the 60-day study left it. The stable, honest summary across both studies is that roughly a quarter of follower growth ran ahead of connection growth, and that quarter is the most content could claim.
That asterisk cuts against our own headline, which is why it is in the key finding's own sentence. A study that only reported 43.68% would have shipped a number one spreadsheet check could dismantle.
In practice
A founder projecting from these numbers should carry the whole mechanism, not just the rate: this team grew followers at +52.33% over 81 days while running outreach at the platform cap and publishing 200 posts. The follower curve is the joint output of both motions, and a content-only operation should anchor on the quarter of growth that ran beyond connections, not the headline.
A content lead deciding where new posting accounts help most has a measured answer: the sub-1,000 cohort's +98.13% against the large accounts' +36.23%. Early accounts compound faster in percentage terms, and the entire 60-day study's cohort pattern repeated in the longer window.
Limitations
Two motions, one curve. Outreach and content ran simultaneously on every account; nothing here isolates content's causal contribution beyond the ceiling arithmetic.
Connection counts are not monotonic. Accounts prune. A reader comparing this study with the 60-day study will notice end-of-window connections fell between the two pulls (21,443 on 6 August, 21,220 on 27 August); that is real pruning behavior, not a data error, and it is why the surplus figure is published both ways.
Small n. Ten accounts, one team, one niche, one platform era. The cohort split rests on 7, 2, and 1 accounts; the per-account range (+23.9% to +165.8%) is wide.
Late-start windows. Three accounts are measured over slightly shorter windows, understating total growth by an unmeasured but small amount.
Followers are not outcomes. Nothing here links follower growth to pipeline; the team's meeting-generating mechanics are measured in the comment-funnel study and the repeat-commenter study.
