Follower-growth claims usually arrive without denominators, without time windows, and without mentioning that the account was also sending connection requests the whole time. This study keeps all three.
The dataset is one workspace, our own: 10 LinkedIn accounts run by the Reachium team, posting consistently through the platform's content engine while also running outreach from the same accounts, which is exactly how most real B2B teams operate. Daily snapshots recorded each account's follower and connection counts for 60 days.
The honest part, and the reason to trust the headline less than its size suggests: on LinkedIn, a new connection becomes a follower by default. An account that runs outreach grows followers without anyone choosing to follow it. This study measures that overlap instead of ignoring it.
How was it measured?
Every account's growth here comes from paired daily snapshots of followers and connections, not from a single profile field.
Window. Daily follower and connection snapshots from 7 June to 6 August 2026, 60 days. Ten accounts have snapshots. Three accounts enter the record slightly late (8 June, 11 June, 18 June); their growth is measured over their own shorter windows and still counted, which slightly understates the totals.
Growth. Per account, last snapshot minus first snapshot, for followers and for connections separately. Team figures are sums of the per-account figures.
Posting cadence in the window. The team published 156 posts during the 60 days, about 2.6 per day across the 10 accounts. Platform data
The separation. Because a new connection auto-follows, connection growth is a conservative proxy for outreach-driven follower growth. Follower growth minus connection growth is the surplus that content and profile visibility can plausibly claim. The proxy is imperfect in both directions: some connections disable following, and some people both follow first and connect later. It is the cleanest split the data allows.
Source discipline. Snapshot values throughout. The platform's account records sync follower counts on a different cadence and disagree by a few followers; they were not used.
